Math With Amy is offering interactive, live, virtual math classes for the 2020-21 school year. Each student will receive a Student Kit with all the printed materials (notes, homework, reviews, and extra credit) needed for the year. Through Zoom, students work with their peers in small groups, solving problems and discussing solutions. Amy hosts optional study sessions on different days of the week for students who need help outside of class.
Algebra 1 builds on topics covered in Pre-Algebra to prepare high-school students for Algebra II. Topics covered include (but not limited to): Expressions, Equations and Inequalities, Ratios and Fractions, Percents and Probabilities, Graphing, and Word Problems.
Textbook: “Algebra 1” from Holt, Rinehart, and Winston. Homework is 2 to 3 hours per week. Honors projects assigned each semester require an additional time outside of class.
