Math With Amy is offering interactive, live, virtual math classes for the 2020-21 school year. Each student will receive a Student Kit with all the printed materials (notes, homework, reviews, and extra credit) needed for the year. Through Zoom, students work with their peers in small groups, solving problems and discussing solutions. Amy hosts optional study sessions on different days of the week for students who need help outside of class.
Geometry is a high-school level class that focuses on the study of mathematical shapes, their positions in space, and the relationships between them. Topics covered include (but not limited to): 2D Shapes (such as triangles, quadrilaterals, and circles), 3D Shapes (such as cubes, cones, and spheres), Similarity and Congruence, Algebraic and Geometric Proofs, and Trigonometric Ratios.
Textbook: “Geometry” from Holt, Rinehart, and Winston. Homework is 2 to 3 hours per week. Honors projects assigned each semester require additional time outside of class.
