Homeschool day: Climate Change and Preserving our Planet
With Liberty Science Center. Wed, April 7. Humans are burning lots and lots of fossil fuels for energy, in planes, in cars, to light our houses, and that’s putting greenhouse gases into the air. But how do those gases affect Earth? During this session, we will explore climate change and what we can do to help become stewards of our planet.
About Virtual Home School Days
Liberty Science Center welcomes home school families, co-ops, and learning pods. We know you play a large role in supporting learning at home, and we’re here to help. We can foster your children’s curiosity and support your teaching with what we do best; let us be your STEM expert!
LSC Virtual Home School Days are for families who wish to supplement their science curriculum with an engaging, inquiry-based adventure inspired by a diverse group of scientists and engineers. This school year, our sessions are being held virtually and will each run 45 minutes.
Programs are structured in such a way that families with multiple children of different ages can have a shared, age-appropriate educational experience. Learners will be grouped by age: Adventurers (ages 4-6), Investigators (ages 7-9), and Specialists (ages 10-12). While we do not restrict families to stay within grade bands, please know that the content is built for an understanding of the recommended science targets according to the Next Generation Science Standards.
Each program is $12 for LSC members and $15 for non-members. Payment must be made at least 48 hours before each scheduled program in order to secure access for the students. Once payment is received, you will receive a link to register for the program.
Our Virtual Home School Days are each inspired by a different scientist.
