Homeschool Spelling Bee

Due to increasing Covid restrictions, Bemidji Discovery Homeschool Program is hosting an online spelling bee on March 13th starting at 10 AM (students will compete by grade groupings at scheduled times throughout the morning/afternoon) via Zoom or Google Classrooms.

The cost to participate is $5/student grades 1-8 (cost is nonrefundable). Email bemidji.homeschool@gmail.com with the names and grades of your children to register. Registration closes on January 15th. At that time, a request for participation fees will be sent to your email. When that’s returned, the official spelling bee rules, a schedule of the event, and practice spelling lists will be sent out. You’ll have access to optional study groups with other students competing in the bee and suggested activities to practice spelling.

This event is not limited by location. It is open to all homeschoolers, so if you have friends or family who live out of city or state and want to compete with you in the bee, they are welcome to join.
Prizes will be awarded to first place winners. Everyone will receive a digital certificate of participation you can use for your homeschooling records.
