Honors Biology – College-Prep High School Science Course
Meets on Mondays, from Aug 24 – May 10
1:00 pm – 2:30 pm (Central); 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm (Eastern)
Taylor Made Science is offering interactive, live, virtual science classes for the 2020-21 school year. These are not your ordinary online science classes! Each student will receive a lab kit with the supplies needed to complete the experiments and hands-on activities typically done in an in-person class. Through Zoom, students will be able to work with their lab group each week as they collect and analyze lab data in the safety of their own home. No need to wear a mask or stay 6 feet apart in the classroom, and no worries about handling shared laboratory equipment!
Honors Biology covers the typical topics of cells, genetics, microbiology, plants, animals, human anatomy & physiology, and the environment. As an Honors level course, the studies will go a little more in-depth into biochemistry, microbiology, and genetics to give students a strong foundation in Biology and the background needed to be successful in advanced high school sciences and at the college level. The class is “hands-on” with a strong lab component, including microbiology culturing and some dissections. Biology students must be at least 13 years old and going into 8th grade at the start of the school year. Tuition includes a take-home lab materials kit.
