Honors Chemistry – College-Prep High School Science Course
Meets on Tuesdays, from Aug 25 – May 11
1:00 pm – 2:30 pm (Central); 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm (Eastern)
Taylor Made Science is offering interactive, live, virtual science classes for the 2020-21 school year. These are not your ordinary online science classes! Each student will receive a lab kit with the supplies needed to complete the experiments and hands-on activities typically done in an in-person class. Through Zoom, students will be able to work with their lab group each week as they collect and analyze lab data in the safety of their own home. No need to wear a mask or stay 6 feet apart in the classroom, and no worries about handling shared laboratory equipment!
Honors Chemistry takes an in-depth look at matter at the molecular level. Students should expect to go well beyond the “physical science” level of Chemistry and a strong Algebra I background is required to be successful in the class. Although safety is always a priority in lab, students will engage in high school level laboratory work. Safety goggles/glasses are required as the hands-on portion of the class will involve more than “kitchen chemistry.” Chemistry students must be at least 14 years old, be going into 9th grade, and have successfully completed Algebra I at the start of the school year. Tuition includes a take-home lab materials kit.
