About Christian Academy of Performing Arts

CAPA offers musical education for ages 4-18. We have 6 choirs including Angel Choir (ages 4-8), Children's Choir (ages 8-11), Treble Choir and Men's Choir (middle school), and Concert Choir (high school). Our only auditioned group is the Master's Singers, a select high school ensemble that performs madrigals to vocal jazz.

CAPA meets in three locations: Mondays are at St. Paul Lutheran Church in central Austin, Tuesdays are at Community Christian Church in Round Rock, and Thursdays are at Westoak Woods Baptist Church in south Austin. Concert Choir only meets on Mondays. The choirs perform at nursing homes each semester, at the State Capitol in the spring, and in concerts in December and May.

CAPA choir program runs from August through May. In the summer, CAPA offers the Teen Summer Musical program for middle and high school students. Auditions are held in May, rehearsals start right after Memorial Day, and the performances are in mid to late July. This is a full Broadway-style production with live orchestra. Students do not have to be choir members to audition for the summer musical.
