About Excused Absence Comedy - Move Your Tale

Excused Absence Comedy is the youth program at Austin's ColdTowne Theater. Since 2007, we have provided kids, teens and families with opportunities to watch, learn and perform original comedy on the ColdTowne stage and beyond. Our classes & camps are taught by Austin's best teaching artists, all of whom perform regularly and are committed to incorporating the positive, supportive principles of improv comedy into their teaching.

In addition to hosting weekly improv shows for kids and families, ExAb produces the only weekly all ages comedy show in Austin and hosts a yearly all ages comedy festival, providing an unmatched level of first hand experience for our students and their families.

At present, our physical theater space is closed due to the pandemic. As a result, we have moved to outdoor, in person classes and online classes & shows. Both have been better than we could have imagined!
