About Grow Your World

Grow Your World is a youth-led community engagement and development program for middle schoolers. We offer transportation and sliding-scale fees to ensure accessibility.

Our program is strategically intersectional, partnering four young people from similar racial backgrounds with young adult "Way Makers" (think: camp counselor meets coach meets mentor). We have equal groupings of youth from various backgrounds to increase equitable empowerment and decrease marginalization and minoritization.

We are community-based, travelling throughout the Triangle (Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Durham mostly) to community spaces to participate in programming and open young people's eyes and imaginations to what is available to them right here, right now. Our programming includes space and curricula for: homework assistance, positive youth development, restorative practices, community mentoring, and program development. All aspects of the program develop through youth leadership and guidance. More information about these aspects can be found on our website.
