About Morehead Planetarium & Science Center
Morehead Planetarium and Science Center, part of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is the largest fulldome planetarium in the southeastern United States and an award-winning producer of fulldome planetarium shows.
In addition to planetarium shows, Morehead offers school and public programming, including camps, classes, skywatching sessions, science cafes, guest speakers, mobile science labs, a portable planetarium and more.
Morehead also founded and administers the North Carolina Science Festival, a statewide month-long celebration of science that takes place each April across the state.
Morehead completed a major renovation in 2020 that expanded the exhibit space by four times and provided ADA upgrades to increase accessibility. Guests can enjoy planetarium shows, science demonstrations, astronomy exhibits, and interactive exhibits that highlight the work of UNC researchers.
